What reductions might apply to my benefit?
If you retire under the option allowing retirement with at least 10 years of creditable service but fewer 30 at minimum retirement age or above (the “MRA+10” retirement option), your annuity will be reduced by 5 percent annuity for each year (5/12 percent per month) you are under age 62 at retirement (age 60 if you have at least 20 years of service).

However, in this case you may postpone when you begin receiving the annuity in order to lessen or eliminate the impact of this reduction. Whether it makes sense to do so depends on your personal financial situation.

Your annuity also will be reduced for insurance premiums, survivor benefits, tax withholding and other reductions you elect.
