Do all awards come in the form of cash?
An agency may grant time off without charge to leave or loss of pay to an employee as an individual or member of a group. Time-off awards may not be converted to cash.

Also, honor award programs may or may not include monetary recognition. They emphasize providing formal, symbolic recognition of significant contributions and publicly recognizing employees by presenting items such as plaques that are principally symbolic in nature.

An agency further may provide training or purchase equipment as a form of award.

Note: Even where an award has cash value, that value may be conveyed in a form other than cash, such as vouchers redeemable at vendors.
