Are retirement deductions taken from all types of compensation?
No. Certain kinds of pay, such as overtime, awards, bonuses, allowances and differentials are not subject to retirement deductions—and thus don’t count toward your high-3 salary for retirement benefits computations—although they are otherwise taxable.
