What are the IRA investment limits?

The annual contribution to a traditional or Roth IRA, or the combination of both, is limited to $5,500 in 2014 (for those individuals who are at least age 50 at any time in 2014, an additional contribution of $1,000 may be made).

In some years the IRA contribution limits are adjusted for inflation. The limits are at www.irs.gov/Retirement-Plans/Plan-Participant,-Employee/Retirement-Topics-IRA-Contribution-Limits.

The maximum annual contribution to a Coverdell Education Savings Account, commonly known as an education IRA, is $2,000 per child under age 18, subject to income limitations.
