Will my agency help pay my student loan debt?
Agencies may make payments (which are taxable) of up to $10,000 a year and $60,000 lifetime for that purpose. The authority is limited to federally insured student loans made by educational institutions or banks and other private lenders. The level of academic degree for which a student loan was obtained is not a consideration in determining eligibility, nor is whether a degree, diploma, or certificate was earned.

The authority is used at the discretion of an agency. Contact your agency for application procedures and other details.
