What happens if I don’t want to accept a reassignment?
If the reassignment would involve a move to a different geographic area, you likely would be eligible for most of the benefits that are available to a displaced employee separated by reduction in force such as hiring priority, severance pay, and discontinued service retirement. An employee who declines reassignment to a position in the same geographic area as the present position is not eligible for any career transition assistance or other benefits.
