Do I have to designate a beneficiary for my FEGLI coverage?
Unless you assigned ownership of your life insurance, you may designate one or more beneficiaries for all coverage except Option C (and you may change that designation later if you wish). If you don’t make a designation, the benefits will be paid out in a standard order of precedence.

If you did assign ownership, benefits will be paid to the assignee or his or her designated beneficiary. The same applies if another form of court order is in effect.

Under Option C, you are the beneficiary.
