Contractors: Vaccine deadline is Dec. 8

Federal contractors and subcontractors, it’s official. You and your fellow workers must get vaccinated against COVID-19 within the next two-and-half-months.

The Safer Federal Workforce Task Force issued the new guidance Sept. 24 specifying procedures and details of the requirements, as published in the Federal Register. The bottom line is this: Federal contractors have until Dec. 8 to comply,

“Covered contractors must ensure that all covered contractor employees are fully vaccinated for COVID-19, unless the employee is legally entitled to an accommodation,” the guidance states. “Covered contractor employees must be fully vaccinated no later than December 8, 2021.”

The guidance also specifies masking and social distancing requirements.

Federal employees have a little less time to get with the program—their deadline is Nov. 22.

I think this will really help reduce the spread of COVID. By adding contractors to the mandate they've really removed a lot of COVID from work places. Good move. It will still be a million dead by the end but this will help keep those deaths down.

So why the delayed date? How many more deaths will there be before Dec 8? They’ve already had at least 6 months notice. They need to be given two weeks - period!
