FEHBP: Vaccine incentives come to some plans

Feds, have you got your vaccine yet? You've probably heard that some state and local governments, as well as private companies, are offering lotteries, prizes, outright gifts and other incentives to get folks to take the COVID-19 vaccine. Now, federal employee health insurance is catching the wave.

Blue Cross Blue Shield groups under the Federal Employees Health Benefits Plan, according to reports, are offering a $50 incentive to all feds and covered family members 18 or older who can provide documentation showing they have completed vaccination.

The company’s spokesperson, according to a report in GovExec, initiated the incentive program in an effort to help the White House achieve the national goal of having 70% of the population inoculated in time for the July 4 holiday.

The incentive will be paid directly as a credit to each enrollee’s MyBlue Wellness Card, and can be used for eligible medical expenses.

This is probably the max bucks we the minions will get back from Blue Cross for getting vaxxed. They like to keep as much of the cash as they can for themselves.

Offer more money, Blue Cross.
