President Joe Biden has asked for the resignation of the entire Federal Service Impasse Panel, a group charged with handling disputes between employee unions and agency negotiators, Federal Times reports.
All 10 members of the panel were appointed by the Trump administration and had frequent issues with union officials who contend that the panel’s rulings favored Trump’s 2018 workforce executive orders, which imposed significant restrictions on unions and collective bargaining rights, the article notes.
The report goes on to say that because members of the panel do not require Senate confirmation, the new president can seat new members as soon as he determines who he wants to serve on the panel.
