Forest Service to downsize youth training program

The White House will end a long-lived Forest Service program—one that has helped train a reported 3,000-plus young people a year and maintained over 1,100 employees, according to the Washington Post.

The administration’s Forest Service management will shut down multiple Job Corps Civilian Conservation centers across at least eight states, the report notes, adding that others will be handed off to private companies to manage.

According to the report, the closures will begin in September, and will constitute the biggest layoff of civil service employees since some very extensive military base realignments were implemented almost a decade ago.

Wake up and smell the roses. The political appointed minions need their bonuses and other perks. The way to get it is to gut a program that is fully functional and has results. Lets consider reducing the number of political appointed minions and defective managers. This surely would make America great again.

Political appointed minions show no real understanding of the needs of the citizens. Time to drain the DC swamp and eliminate most of the congressional, senate and management positions. The tax savings would benefit the American people.

I guess the federal manager minion at the Forrest Service Management Agency is looking to get a job outside the federal government. This is draining the swamp for filling wit with more sewage and sludge. Where are the elected officials who supposedly support civil servants. They are doing what they do best absolutely NOTHING.

Employing young people and getting them into the woods is a good idea. Shrinking the program is a bad idea.

This is tragically short-sighted of the administration, but it's what I've come to expect from Trump. He doesn't have a clue about much of anything!
