Forest Service to downsize youth training program

The White House will end a long-lived Forest Service program—one that has helped train a reported 3,000-plus young people a year and maintained over 1,100 employees, according to the Washington Post.

The administration’s Forest Service management will shut down multiple Job Corps Civilian Conservation centers across at least eight states, the report notes, adding that others will be handed off to private companies to manage.

According to the report, the closures will begin in September, and will constitute the biggest layoff of civil service employees since some very extensive military base realignments were implemented almost a decade ago.

Currently the Federal Government has over two hundred thousand job openings for Qualified personnel ____ because neither our President or Congress shows any support or respect for federal workers.

This is old news. Thank goodness the order has been rescinded thanks to the efforts of western states' governors and congressmen. It was a very bad idea!

Wake up and smell the roses. The political appointed minions need their bonuses and other perks. The way to get it is to gut a program that is fully functional and has results. Lets consider reducing the number of political appointed minions and defective managers. This surely would make America great again.

Political appointed minions show no real understanding of the needs of the citizens. Time to drain the DC swamp and eliminate most of the congressional, senate and management positions. The tax savings would benefit the American people.
