Report: Pay raise coming next month

According to a congressional aide with knowledge of the 2019 federal employee pay raise timeline, the Office of Personnel Management will publish new pay tables for the various pay systems and localities in March, Government Executive reports.

The aid said that the agency is still working on the pay tables, and agency payroll processors will replace existing pay tables in their systems once they are published, the article notes, adding that the first paycheck with the raise will most likely go out during the first or third week of March.

President Trump signed a spending package that included a 1.9 percent retroactive pay raise for civilian federal employees earlier this month, but since the bill’s enactment on Feb. 15, there has been no noticeable progress in implementing the pay hike, according to the report.

I have to disagree with previous comment on 3/21 from a retired "fed employee". As a current Fed Employee we are underpaid and under appreciated. We do more with less. President is not on the side of "all" americans. Only those that believe his lies. If economy is doing so great there is no reason not to give Fed Employees a COLA raise. We are taxpayers too!!

I am a retiree from the Federal Government and worked in Washington DC. The is not against the Federal worker in any way. It not about his base. Its about the good of the USA. Most of Federal works are OVER paid for what they really do. I know I saw it for myself, first hand. I worked hard and watched others do almost nothing. I saw people get a grade increase based on who or what they were to the boss. Be happy we get paid as much as you do. The President is on the side of all the Americans.

It is sad that this President appears to be on a crusade against the Federal Employees who execute the administration’s policies. Even if all Federal employees were eliminated it would only reduce the budget by 7%. So his actions must be due to his arrogance and a general lack of respect for those who work for him.
