Telework ‘Call for Data’ coming in November

The Office of Personnel Management’s annual call for information about federal agencies teleworking employees and policies will be in early November.

As part of the 2010 Telework Enhancement Act, agencies are required to report telework data to OPM on an annual basis.

Agency telework managing officers and telework coordinators who have been designated as the points of contact for the survey will be notified via email and will be provided individual passwords to enter the data online.

The data will cover fiscal year 2018 and must be completed by December 12, 2018 to be included in the, “Status of Telework in the Federal Government Report to Congress," which will be released next year.

More information is available on OPM’s official telework website.

That's a very general statement on the telework program. Most people I know that teleworks, work longer hours than when on site.

Employees that ACTUALLY WORK while teleworking are getting lumped into the same box as employees who do nothing while teleworking. I, for one, take GREAT offense when my telework days were shortened. I feel as though I was punished for actually doing my job. Why not take the ones to task who are nonperformers and leave those of us who do the work no matter where we are located ALONE! The largest problem in the FED Gov is the inability to take nonperformers to task, weed them out, so to speak. Maybe it is far easier to lump us together. After working for over 25 years for the Fed Gov, I thought of telework as a reward for doing my job and going above the beyond.

That program is given and used unfairly. Part time work for full time pay.
