Premium pay waivers for feds in Iraq continues

Civilian federal employees who are working in Iraq will remain eligible for premium pay cap waivers until the end of the year, Federal Times reports.

The National Defense Authorization Act of 2018 established a pay extension for civilian employees working overseas in Iraq through May 22, 2018, but the president has extended the deadline until Dec. 31, the article notes.

According to the article, currently, the U.S. has a contingency operation in Iraq, so the higher premium pay cap may be applied to eligible employees working in Iraq in support of that operation on that basis as well.
