GSA releases new per diem rates

The General Services Administration gave federal employees a slight increase in business travel reimbursements for 2019.

On Aug. 14, the agency released its standard per diem rate schedule for hotel, travel and meal reimbursements.

The hotel and lodging rate went up to $94 from the $93, and meals and incidental expenses rate increased to $55 for, up from $51.

The top end of the meals and incidentals rates went from $74 to $76.

Also in 2019, Marietta, Ga., will get its own rate as a non-standard area, and 21 other localities that previously had individual rates will now be covered by the standard figures.

The rates will go into effect Oct. 1.
