OPM survey finds that some federal managers lack training

A new survey has found that experienced federal supervisors do not receive the same amount of management training as new supervisors, Federal Times reports.

According to an Office of Personnel Management Federal Supervisory Training Program Survey released May 21, while 89 percent of new federal supervisors receive training in the four management areas required by the Code of Federal Regulations, only 63 percent of experienced supervisors receive that same training, the report notes.

The survey also found that those employees who aspire to join the ranks of government supervisory roles received even less training and coaching than those who were actually promoted or already established supervisors, according to the report, which notes that OPM recommended that agencies revamp their training programs.

Our management is the epitome of self-serving derelicts that exude corruption to the degree it is obvious and they write each other up for secret bonuses and trips. They do nothing and are so inept at managing they hide anytime a personnel issue arises. Swamp draining should begin demoting, eliminating useless management.

Put it in the management minions performance evaluation, get trained or get Riffed that simple. Too much management bloat and it effects the morale of hard working non-management employees.

Reduce management bloat, the most cost effective savings to drain the festering swamp.

Time to reduce management ranks since most are worthless and the ones that know how to work with their people should be empowered to recognize hard workers. This wont happen since lousy management enjoys the company and perks of other lousy managers who make sure the little clique is well taken care of at the expense of productive non-management workers.

One big out fit in Montgomery county has many management misfits who give each other bonuses and professionally assassinates any employee that wont be part of the in crowd. Management is so inept and backstabbing they are actually proud that they have demoralized hard working long term employees to the point they retire or go elsewhere for better employment opportunities to flourish under management that knows how to respect their employees.
