Dems stop short of threatening a shutdown over ACA cuts

Some Democrats have put the threat of a government shutdown back on the table over issues with President Trump’s recent action with the Affordable Care Act funding, Government Executive reports.

Last week, Trump cut roughly $7 billion in payments the federal government has provided to health insurance companies to offset the cost of covering low-income customers, and some Democrats are so against the action that have said the payments must be reinstated in order for their caucus to approve the next round of appropriations, according to the report.

However, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said while she prefers for the House to move quickly on reinstating subsidies, there really is no risk for a government shutdown because the Democrats don’t have the majority, the article notes.

Both parties in congress and senate, some suggestions from a fellow American 1) Grow up and do your job. 2) Federal employees are your constituents and may have made a mistake in voting for you. 3) Begin the process of term limits. 4) Halve your salaries and work a 40 hr work week. 5) Sorry the cost of living is high in the metro area, go back home and represent the folks that mistakenly voted for you. 6) No more free lunches, gym memberships, subsidized hair cuts and parking spaces at the airports. 7) If unable to do your job, resign someone else with better credentials is available immediately.

Another government shut down. Wow the mental midgets surely know how to govern. I think it is time that they shut down congress and senate, allow the regular workers to go to work and serve the American people. Then when the idiots decide what is supposed to be accomplished re-open the chambers and deduct their entire annual salaries for the rest of their term and place the funds into an emergency fund for those individuals who were adversely affected by future idiot elected officials poor decisions. Remember election time, maybe a few will land on their cans and wake up.

Federal Court has ruled the payments are illegal. So Trump is bad because he is following the law?

Insurance companies will raise rates which means the government will have to pay more in subsidies. Very little effect overall yet the Democrats are screaming that Trump is sabotaging the ACA and the end of health care is at hand77. Come on, get real. This is no big deal.

What a mess. Just remember, whatever bad idea the Republicans can come up with, the Democrats can make it even worse. Just say'n.
