Bill seeks larger VSIP payouts

Included in the House Armed Services Committee spending bill is language that would grant bigger payouts for Defense Department civilian employees who leave their jobs early, Military Times reports.

According to the report, the recently passed bill extends the Voluntary Separation Incentive Pay plus to $40,000 — up from $25,000 — for defense civilians for another four years.

Committee officials said the goal is to give defense officials better tools to manage the size of their workforce, the article notes.
