With a Republican president in office, Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah) says he can now focus on making meaningful changes to the federal workforce, starting with eliminating defined-benefit pensions for new federal employees and making it easier to fire employees accused of sexual misconduct, Government Executive reports.

According to the article, Chaffetz— who chairs the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee— on Jan. 9 said, with the support of the new Trump administration, he plans to make sweeping reforms to federal employees’ retirement benefits, job security and even office locations.

He also promised to dismiss proposals exclusively aimed at cutting the federal workforce despite the fact that his committee is considering ways to shrink its size, the report notes.

Republicans HATE federal workers and will do everything and anything to crash their missions and demoralize the personnel with the long term goal of reducing the workforce especially regulatory personnel to the extent that they can then declare organizations incompetent and use that as justification to eliminate them.

Rep. Chaffetz, This is exactly why I didn't vote for certain Virginia Senators and Congressmen and it's obvious, you need to be voted out too. Senators and Congress personnel keep forgetting that we elect you to do a job and you have done an EXTREMELY poor job, to the point that it's NOT being done. Please forget about reforming the Federal Government, when our Congress and Senators need reforming! First, there needs to be term limits; second, if military and federal Government personnel don't get a raise, neither do you; third, don't mess with our "defined-benefits provisions" until you have revamped yours! I'm tired of paying your retirement salaries, when you don't work 40 hours a week or 52 weeks a year. In fact, there needs to be a leave policy implemented just like the military and federal employees; and lastly, if term limits are voted out, then change the retirement structure to be equivalent to the military and federal Government personnel: work 30 years in Congress (if elected; military time counts) BEFORE you can qualify for a retirement. Personally, I'm over people cutting down our military and federal employees, when I see SO MANY others taking advantage of the system and NOTHING is being done and Rep. Chaffetz, your organization is one of them. THANK you!

Thank you Rep Chaffetz. Why don't you propose that all Congress put in a 40 hour week in Washington like the rest of us feds do back home.
