A spokesperson from Immigration and Customs Enforcement has confirmed the resignation of a senior official at the agency following allegations of discrimination, the New York Times reports.
Suzanne Barr -- chief of staff to the director at ICE and longtime aide to Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano -- had been on leave from her position since a New York federal immigration official filed a lawsuit alleging that Barr created an office culture that was discriminatory against male employees.
Barr denied the accusations in her resignation, according to the Times.
Meanwhile, Rep. Peter T. King (R-NY) chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee, released a statement promising to look into the issue once Congress returns from break.
