OPM expands 2021 dental, vision plans

The Office of Personnel Management has expanded the number of dental and vision insurance carriers selected to provide coverage through the Federal Employees Dental and Vision Program (FEDVIP), effective Jan. 1, 2021.

OPM said the seven-year contract will increase focus on wellness and education and that it improved quality assurance and financial reporting processes and enhanced fraud waste and abuse requirements.

OPM anticipates no disruption of enrolleeā€™s continuity of services. Eligible individuals may enroll, cancel or change their enrollment during the Federal Benefits Open Season this year, Nov.9 to Dec. 14, 2020.

FEDVIP has 3.3 million unique enrollees, providing dental and vision benefits to a total of 6.9 million federal employees, uniformed service members, retirees and their family members.
