VA forced to rehire fired leader

The former director of Washington, D.C.’s veterans' hospital has been rehired after filing an appeal.

The former director of Washington, D.C.’s veterans hospital has been rehired after filing an appeal, Federal Times reports.

Brian Hawkins was fired from his position last month for mismanagement and poor leadership, but appealed his dismissal through the Merit Systems Protection Board, the report notes.

According to the article, MSPB is requiring the VA to retain Hawkins as an employee until the Office of Special Counsel reviews his claim.
