Fed network users often the source of security lapses

Many of the cyber threats to federal networks come as a result of security lapses by the users themselves, Federal Times reports.

A study released this week by public-private IT partnership MeriTalk found that nearly half—49 percent—of security breaches at agencies were traced to employees skipping security measures when using the Web or checking emails and downloading files, according to the report.
