Greetings all, I have a question regarding the TSP loan program. I am thinking about making a loan in order to get my oldest daughter out of college ( her last semester). If I make a loan I think I'm not able to make another loan until that is paid off. Also, I plan on retirement in Jan 2012. So, it seems the remainder of the loan would be taxable, as I would just let it "roll over", and not repay it. Question: if I am retired, and did not pay back the loan I still would have access to TSP and could make withdrawls? The loan, or un paid loan would not be an issue for access to the TSP post retirement is this correct? I thought until recently that I could make withdrawals after retirement but it seems from what I have read recently I can xfer to an IRA, make a one time bulk withdrawal, set a monthly amount to withdrawal, or an annuity. Are these the only options?
Also, does anyone know how to speak with a person with a pulse regarding TSP questions? All I can get is some automated answer phone that is near usless.
Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks........
