What OWCP MUST do and what OWCP actually does are two separate things. You've outed yourself Maddog...you're a CE anyone on this board that's going to listen to you better make real sure what you're saying is accurate.

OWCP is a non-biased agency...good one...you made me laugh with that one and I'll bet you don't believe it's adversarial either.

ok.. maddog... just a question or two..

"The Facts of the claimed injury have to meet the medical condition claimed by you."  and "You get to choose what physician you go to".  Ok here goes....  most physicians of your choice DO NOT choose to deal with OWCP crap or do they want to willingly write up a "narrative report" with all the BS they have to answer and then to have to argue what a worthless "weasle" of a 2nd op doctor you get stuck with has written and tangled up about you... .  It is too much of a headache for them and to get the care you need or want, the price you pay is trying to force them to write what OWCP requires... only to be asked, "have you thought about getting a lawyer?" I almost took out an office manager yesterday for asking me this....  These same doctors will give you the FACTS in your office notes and can't figure out why OWCP (who looks up medical conditions all day long) are not able to use that well trained brain of theirs to put it together without a narrative.  I have researched the same thing and I can figure out 2 + 2......"provide service to both..."  I'm thinkin that is BS along with the part about the agency having a compensation office to help them..  ours is just a paper pusher!!  Took me forever this last time to get a copy of the file and to get reimbursed for a lowsy $115 for mileage.  Thanks for the advice to send in info directly to Kentucky with the claim #, I have already been GRAETLY advised my someone here who is quite an expert in my book!!!!

Kelldee!!! I'm glad you maintained control and didn't take out the office manager...wonder which one it was!

Well golly gosh and gee wiz, you didn't get a crappy inaccurate report from a secop Dr. Weasel did you? No, say it isn't so. OWCP's doctors are all so accurate and knowledgeable. OWCP would never rely on something full of lies and inconsistencies...

Isn't it nice to know OWCP cares so much about all of us? This would be comic relief if it weren't so sad and pathetic and didn't negitively affect lives.

maddog:  I see you have asked Federal Soup to open a new category - DOL.  Is that correct?  That would be a positive development.  It appears that you genuinely are interested in offering objective assistance.  That would be most welcome.  I have been hurt by my employer and the OWCP process.  I have had to get a loan modification on my house; I can only pay my utilities and my food, and the rest of my bills go unpaid. It is true that I am not disabled for life - I attempted to return to work but was terminated instead.  What can OWCP do to punish federal employers who do not adhere to their responsibilities under the FECA and the OWCP?  Why must I as the employee take the hit for an unscrupulous, incompetent supervisor?  It happens, you know.  Not everyone is honorable, employee or manager.  It is exhausting while searching for a new job with no money and the need for reasonable accommodations.  Do  you tell the prospective employer during the interview?  Of course not.  The results can be nothing short of tragic when untrained federal supervisors manage federal emplyees and want to cover up their incompetence by throwing the injured employee to the dogs.

Basically, it says the agency "OWCP: does not make payments while a claim is being adjudicated.  For complicated cases, the agency's goal is to decide on a claim within six months". It goes on, of course a complicated and serious ailment might be one that is expensive to fix - a six month wait could be devastating in those circumstances.  "The claims acceptance rate for occupational diseases for 2009 was only 52%; compared with 90% rate for traumatic injuries."

Gee, I have a traumatic injury but OWCP received so many false statements from my supervisors they had no choice but to deny it the first go rounds.  Your supervisors can and should be held accountable for lying.  File those EEO complaints for disability discrimination and harassment and hostile working conditions.  Avoid the MSPS - they rule for employees in only 1% of the time.

Take it easy today.Cool

Thanks for the link to this article.  If nothing else it shows someone out there notices the ridiculous nature of the system put in place by OWCP.

You are welcome.  As if the middle class did not have enough problems just making it, but when the covenant between federal civilian management officials/ OWCP and the injured worker is broken and is revealed to be Shockednothing but useless rhetoric, there are real life tragic consequences.  Just ask any of us.
