Good evening future IRS agents. I came across the posting for the IRS agents for 2010. The posting is different from others in the past. For those individuals who apply prior to March 26, they will be considered for the June 21st start date and those applicants after 3/26 will be considered for the Sept. start date.

Isn't this for people who can only qualify to GS 12 and 13?

For those of us who are still waiting for a call in reference to the March hire, do we automatically get picked up for the June hire if we applied for the Oct.16 announcement and actually had an interview?  Also, what is your status in USAjobs and CC right now?  Mine still reads "Application Received" and "Qualifications Under Review" for GS-9.  I still haven't received my interview results nor have I received that dreadful "We are sorry to inform you" email.

You probably will get the pass/fail interview after all the TO are out.

Grade 12 and up is for internal competition.  Outside won't get hired.

No.  You can try if you want.  But RA from grade 5 to 11 is non compete.  Anything above that you will have to compete with other RA for.  So why would they hire from outside when there are grade 11 applying for the same position inside?  The only way you will get it is it's a POD that nobody wants.

Yes,  ariesT2009, your test scores and interview results are kept on file for at least 12 months so they will carry over for the next phase of hirings. However, you still have to apply for the posting once it is dropped in order to be considered for the job.

The promotion potential is 12/13... so anyone can apply for this posting but starts at GS7 on the pay scale. Do not get discouraged... Just apply to see what they say and good luck.
