took mine on Sept 17, i asked her explicitly about the testing problems, she just said she received the outcomes and would check it, nothing about if it should have been like that or not. i did have a writing portion, reading three/four reports and writing a summary on what further action should be taken. everything was faxed in on Sept 17th but i havent heard back anything.
your experience with this? |

quote: I'm going go ahead and disagree with that. quote: Yours were faxed? Mine were all taken and submitted online. Other than that, yes, the writing part seems the same I think. If she didn't seem alarmed by your description of the test, then I would assume that it was supposed to be like that, as strange as it sounds. If you have a contact's phone number maybe you should call them again and just check on your status? |

i was contacted via email, told to take the brainbench tests, submit writing samples, cover letter, transcripts via fax within 7 days from the email date and then if they were interested i would be contacted in 45-60 days.
I don't think much will come from this, like posts above it is probably best to forget and if contacted then great. this recruiter has been pretty good about getting back to emails, haven't contacted her in about 2 months though. |

So in your case, you were a normal applicant that took the test, you didn't get an e-mail before that would perhaps indicate you made it to another tier?

no indication of getting to the next level of recruitment. just said they were interested and to submit documents.
I applied before they initiated their new application system, that may be why i was asked to provide these additional documents.. not really sure |

Mine was a little different. They first emailed me to submit additional materials, as you described, then about 3 weeks later i got the email to take the tests. Now I'm just waiting for a call with some good news.
If they request a phone interview, I wonder if it would be okay for me to volunteer to come in for a face to face instead? I would feel more comfortable face to face, and it's not a far drive. Hmmm. I guess I'm getting a little ahead of myself now though. |

I've decided to tell all about the CIA Brainbench Tests because they didn't hire me and and I never heard back after I took mines, so screw the CIA!
Anyway, I received an email about taking some tests on www.brainbench.com about two months after I applied online for an Analyst position with the CIA. The CIA provided me with a code to take the tests. There were 3 tests in all, it took me a few hours total to complete them. There is no "saving and return later" option, you must have a few hours to spare to sit and take these tests on your home computer or any other computer. You do have the option here and there for 15min breaks so you can go to the bathroom, stretch, grab a snack, etc.
As you see, I didn't get in, they never contacted me back. They think they can assess your personality by some stupid website questions and they just can't. It is crap just like the polygraph. Oh well, I hope I can help someone else get into the CIA by providing this information. I am out of the running. Good luck to all.
